​Xi'an airport sees increase in exit-entry passengers

International tourists are flocking to China this year, due to the implementation of a series of convenient policies. Xi'an Xianyang International Airport in Shaanxi, a vital tourist province, has seen a rapid growth in inbound and outbound passenger flow.

The number of inbound and outbound passengers at the airport has already exceeded 300,000 this summer, with more than 2,200 flights operated, a year-on-year increase of 33 percent and 45 percent, respectively. The average daily passenger flow exceeded 6,500, a year-on-year increase of 33 percent, and the peak daily passenger flow exceeded 7,800.

Cheng Peiheng, a representative of the Shaanxi General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection, said that most international tourists entering Xi'an during the summer vacation are from South Korea, Malaysia, and Russia. As a result of the China-Central Asia Summit, the number of tourists from Central Asia has also shown a significant increase compared to previous years.

To cope with the peak summer passenger flow and facilitate efficient and smooth customs clearance for tourists, the station launched the "Shaanxi Border Inspection Information Filling System", set a temporary entry permit processing zone, and took new convenient service measures such as Shaanxi inbound tourism promotion and display services, contributing to the province's high-level opening-up.
