The 2026 "Thousands of Miles on the Silk Road" cross‑border all‑media event kicked off on July 24. The media convoy set off from Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, embarking on a 33‑day Silk Road journey.

Launched in 2014, the event has organized media convoys along the Silk Road for 10 consecutive times. Its footprint spans 53 countries across Asia and Europe and more than 200 cities, with a total driving distance exceeding 1 million kilometers.

This year marks the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the China‑ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership. The event not only carries forward the spirit of the millennia‑old Silk Road but also helps foster a closer China‑ASEAN community with a shared future.

The trip will pass through representative domestic cities, including Jingdezhen, Hangzhou, and Quanzhou. Its overseas segment will extend into Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. Centered on cultural exchange, scientific and technological innovation, and industrial connectivity, the convoy will conduct comprehensive interviews and in-depth exchanges.

The event will use an all‑media matrix to create multi‑dimensional, international communication content. It will showcase civilizational integration, industrial linkages, and people-to-people bonds between China and ASEAN countries, and contribute to the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
