Xi'an Metro Line 15 commenced trial ride

On December 23, the highly anticipated Xi'an Metro Line 15 Phase 1 commenced the trial ride and is set to begin initial operations by the end of December.

Xi'an Metro Line 15 Phase 1 stretches 19.4 kilometers from Xiliu Station to Dongzhaoyu Station, featuring 13 underground stations, including three transfer hubs. It links Silk Road Science City, Western University Town, and Xi'an Aerospace City, vitalizing the innovation axis in southern Xi'an and boosting scientific, educational, cultural, and tourism development. 

Xi'an Metro Line 15 Phase 1 connects the Chang'an District, Gaoxin District, and Xi'an National Civil Aerospace Industrial Base, with three core themes—Advanced Technology, Science, Education and Culture, and Aerospace Industry—integrated into its design.

Hangtiancheng (Aerospace City) Station, a transfer hub for Lines 15 and 2, features the theme "Gathering Wisdom in the Clouds, Spreading Wings to Carry Dreams." Its design uses aluminum arrays to mimic soaring wings, symbolizing freedom and ambition. With a starry-sky fabric ceiling and blue ceramic-coated panels, the station creates a cohesive, high-tech ambiance.

Guodu West Station, a transfer hub for Line 15 and 6, adopts Line 6's architectural style. Inspired by traditional Chinese roof ridges, its high-ceilinged design creates an airy environment that minimizes confinement while celebrating the cultural heritage of ancient and modern Chang'an.

As a standard station for Line 15, the Xi'an University of Posts and Telecommunications Station features rhythmic ceiling curves that complement its architectural layout, highlighting the line's unique cultural identity.

The station concourse of Line 15 is equipped with smart interactive devices, allowing passengers to engage with AI to access line information and obtain travel tips for Xi'an, showcasing a high level of intelligence.

Featuring a "Vibrant Red" aluminum alloy body, the train embodies the theme "Ancient Charm with Modern Radiance, Technology in Harmony." The design seamlessly merges Xi'an's deep historical heritage with a modern aesthetic.

Line 15 is in final preparations for operation after passing all engineering and safety inspections. This launch marks the completion of Xi'an's third-phase rail plan, bringing the total network length to 422 kilometers.
