Xi'an Metro Line 15 to enter trial operation

The construction of stations along Xi'an Metro Line 15 (Phase I) is progressing in an orderly manner.

The total length of Xi'an Metro Line 15 (Phase I) is 19.46 kilometers. Once completed, it will push the total mileage of the Xi'an Metro to a new height of 422 km, becoming a benchmark project that showcases the strength of Xi'an's rail transit construction, with multiple highlights including unmanned driving and deep-buried stations along the entire line.

The A-type train used on Xi'an Metro Line 15 is currently the high-capacity model used in the domestic metro system. The width of a single carriage in the A-type car is 0.2 meters larger than the common B-type cars, while the passenger capacity of each carriage is about 15 percent higher. The train is designed to reach a speed of 100 km per hour, which is 25 percent faster than normal, reducing commuting time from Chang'an University Town to the Xi'an National Civil Aerospace Industrial Base by nearly half.

Due to the complex geological structure of Chang'an district that the Xi'an Metro Line 15 (Phase I) passes through, all 13 stations along the line are designed to be buried deeply underground, with the deepest station reaching a depth of 53.9 meters.

At the construction site of Aerospace Base Station, the interior decoration has been completed, and four super large load escalators have been installed on the platform level, with a running speed of 0.6 meters per second, ensuring that passengers can quickly travel between the ground and the platform.

Metro Line 15 is set to begin operating in the fourth quarter of 2025, injecting new momentum into the development of south Xi'an and increasing the quality of the city's public transportation.
