Longzhou Canyon (Valley of Waves in Jingbian)
Due to its location in Longzhou Basin, the Longzhou Canyon in Jingbian is also called Longzhou Danxia. It is also called the Valley of Waves in Jingbian, compared favorably with the Wave in Western United States. It is located in Longzhou Yan Family Stockade Village, 22 km away from the southeast of Jingbian County of Yulin in Shaanxi Province.
The Valley of Waves is a world of wonders, which is born out of sandstones cut and polished by millions of years of wind, water and time. The complex bedding surface of the rocks in the Valley of Waves consists of huge sand dunes that have started to deposit one hundred and fifty million years ago in the Jurassic Period. Those sand tunes have continued to be covered by red sands which underground water has been impregnating layer by layer. After a considerable period of time, the mineral substances in the water condensed sands into sandstones and form a laminated structure.
Looking from afar, tourists feel that this place looks like a massif piled up by red rocks, which does not look very special. However, if you walk along the traces of red stones, you feel that your eyes are suddenly opened. A brook that looks very much like a canyon lies in front as bright as red glow from the sun. You can also see strange rocks, packs of stone columns in different poses and with different expressions. You feel a very strong sense of visual impact. You cannot help but exclaim over the superlative craftsmanship of Mother Nature.

2.Transportation
Tourist can take train or bus from Xi’an to Jingbian County, and coach from Jingbian County to Longzhou Village starts from 9am to 7pm. It is scheduled to stop every hour. The distance is 25km. It takes about 1.5km from Longzhou Village to the Valley of Waves.

The Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty – North Town Station – Red Stone Gorge – Tong Wan Cheng.
