Four towns in Shaanxi transformed into unique towns for tourism
The Western China Development in the “13th Five-Year Plan,” announced by China National Development and Reform Commission, plans to build 100 small characteristic cities and towns in the west of China. Among the selected are 10 towns from Shaanxi province. The Town of Yingpan of Zhashui County and the Town of Zhaojin, Yaozhou District, Tongchuan City will be transformed into leisure-based tourist towns, while the Town of Yanxia, Liquan County and the Town of Qingmuchuan, Ningqiang County into folk-custom-based cultural towns.
The Town of Yingpan in Zhashui County of Shangluo City boosts the terrain of “higher in the north and lower in the south,” on which stands the Niubeiliang Peak. Niubeiliang Peak, at an altitude of 2,812 meters, is the highest peak in the eastern part of the Qinling Mountains and the roof of Luoshang City. The characteristics of the Town lie in its good ecological environment and well-protected superior resources.
The Town of Zhaojinin Yaozhou District in Tongchuan city is of significant “Red” tourism features. Zhaojin is at the northwest watershed in ancient wars with the name of “Stone Pass” where the Red Twenty-sixth Army was built by Liu Zhidan, Xie Zichang, Xi Zhongxun and others in 1933 and the Shaanxi and Gansu Special Committee and Revolutionary Committee of the Communist Party were established, which made the Town of Zhaojin the first mountainous base for the revolution.
The Town of Yanxia in Liquan County is named after the Yanxia Cave. Yanxia is north of the Zhao Mausoleum of Tang dynasty with the Guanzhong loop lines, with Tang Zhao Mausoleum Tourist Lines passing by. The Tang Zhao Mausoleum Museum that all tourists yearn for a visit is located in this very town.
With the rise to fame of the three Rural Tourist Key Villages including the Central Shaanxi Plain Folk-custom Experience, the Village of Yuanjia, Yanxia has also become a destination that tourists long for a visit.
The Town of Qingmuchuan in Ningqiang county is famous for the historical figure Weifutang and its ancient buildings. Qingmuchuan boasts a wide variety of ancient heritages such as “Qinlong Ancient Path Along The Cliff,” Rock Carved Statue of Guanyin, the Stone of General Deng’ai, Footprints of Erlang God, the Stone Pass, and Jingang Gorge, especially the ancient buildings with different styles, spanning from Ming and Qing dynasties to the Republic Of China and other times, and the humanity folk legends that draw poets and scholars in the past and present to visit and write a few lines of verses for. This Town is now home to the ancestral temples of Qu, Wei, Zhao, and Tu families in the Ming and Qing dynasties with inscribed monuments, whose level of preservation is up to 70%.
