During the meeting, they summarized the first half year of the government's work and made plans for the second half of the year, mobilizing local people to embark on a new journey and achieve results together by 2023.

In the first half of the year, the high-tech zone's gross production reached 130.1 billion yuan ($20.07 billion), and its industrial output value grew 25 percent. Investment in industries and technological transformation accounted for 53 percent and 82.5 percent respectively of the city's total, which showcased a significant increase in economic strength.

XHTZ will fully support socially responsible enterprises to pursue new development, helping them to attract investment. "We created a glorious past relying on businesses, and I believed that they will continue to help the zone move toward a brilliant future," said the zone's Party chief Ma Xianping.

The zone cultivated 2,350 high-tech small and medium-sized enterprises in the past six months. About 14,700 market entities were added, an increase of 42.3 percent. In addition, 116 projects were signed with a total investment of 286.5 billion yuan, apart from 89 newly commenced projects and 27 completed ones.

XHTZ recently announced it will expand the Silk Road city-based software industrial park from 14 square kilometers to 24.42 sq km. A tram line was designed to link it to a local science park, which are two core areas for future innovative development.

Notably, a service-oriented government was expected to lead all groups of people working and living in the zone to feel more comfortable and dignified once their income continues to outperform that of economic growth and common prosperity is achieved in high-quality development.
