Expats experience Tang culture in Xi'an

The Understanding Xi'an: Culture Experience Workshop event was held at Tang Paradise in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on May 31, giving more than 20 expats working and living in the city a taste of the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

The event conveyed an inclusive and comprehensive image of Xi'an by giving expats a chance to enjoy the city's rich culture.

At the cloth shop of Tang Paradise, expats were able to appreciate the beauty of Tang Dynasty costumes and paintings of beautiful women from the Tang Dynasty.

Ma Wenxuan, an international student from Kazakhstan who gave his Chinese name, picked up a headdress and said he wanted to wear Tang clothing and go back in time to the Tang Dynasty to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Furong Lake.

Expats also got to see Ladies with Head-pinned Flowers by Zhou Fang, a famous painter in the Tang Dynasty.

Huang Liqing, Consulate General of Thailand in Xi'an, who also gave her Chinese name, said that many people in Thailand are familiar with the culture of China's Tang Dynasty, and that it was incredible to be able to experience it today.

An exchange activity was also held, in which expats spoke freely about their work and life in Xi'an.
