Xi'an Olympic Sports Center's design wins top recognition

The Ministry of Natural Resources announced the first batch of outstanding cases of national land and space planning – and the core area of the Xi'an Olympic Sports Center was selected on the list of top urban designs.

The Xi'an Olympic Sports Center is located in Xi'an International Trade and Logistics (ITL) Park, Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.

The Xi'an Olympic Sports Center is the widely lauded as a stunning venue. It provided the site for the main activities of the 14th China's National Games on Sept 15-27, 2021. [ITL Park's WeChat public account]

The design of the core area of the center is divided into four areas: a modern public service area, riverside area, modern livable area and ecological pastoral area. It has adopted simple and elegant design concepts and silver-like and elegant architectural colors to create a modern image.

Some cultural buildings will be built around the center, with a cultural park and super high-rise hotel buildings to provide public cultural, sports and hospitality services.

So far, a series of buildings for a Belt and Road Cultural Exchange Center and 10 key projects around the center have completed construction of the main structure and the facade, with interior decoration work now in progress.

Meanwhile, upgrading and reconstruction projects on both sides of the Bahe River in key areas have  also been completed on schedule, providing residents with a host of leisure and recreation venues.
