16 activities to stimulate consumption in Xi'an

The Xi'an municipal bureau of commerce recently formulated plans to promote consumption in the first quarter of 2022 in Xian, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, by holding 16 activities of various types.
The 16 activities are as follows:
1. Encouraging commercial enterprises to resume operations
Date: mid-January-late March
Xi'an will offer incentives and subsidiaries of various types to enterprises to increase their confidence.
2. Launching a 100-day campaign to promote key consumption
Date: Nov 25, 2021-March 31, 2022
The city will cultivate high-quality retail and e-commerce platforms, encourage consumption of new energy vehicles, increase the quality and efficiency of catering consumption, and help exhibition enterprises hold exhibitions both online and offline.
3. 2022 Xi'an Online Shopping Festival
Date: Jan 22-Feb 15
A WeChat applet designed for the shopping festival has been established for 100 supply companies. Consumers can place orders directly through the applet.
4. Themed promotional activity
Date: March 1-31
Major commercial complexes, commercial blocks, catering, and accommodation companies in Xi'an will be encouraged to carry out promotions focusing on products related to beauty and skin care, trendy clothing and boutique women's clothing.
5. Digital RMB activity
Date: Jan 25-Deb 28
In cooperation with Meituan's Xi'an branch, people located in Xi'an can receive a 45 yuan ($7.1) digital coupon package by searching "Xi'an resumption of work", which can be found on the Meituan app.
6. Subsidies for purchasing new energy vehicles
Date: Jan 24-March 31
Financial subsidies will be given to consumers who purchase new energy vehicles from the city's new energy vehicle sales enterprises above a designated size.
7. Series of night-time consumption activities
Date: Jan 29-March 31
Xi'an will launch a series of night-time consumption activities involving catering, retail, leisure and entertainment, cultural performances, accommodation, and sightseeing.
8. Xi'an Refueling Festival
Date: Feb 1-15
Xi'an will carry out promotional activities for petroleum products and non-petroleum products to increase the overall sales of petrol stations.
9. Home appliance consumption subsidies
Date: Feb 7-March 31
People who purchase energy-efficient products such as air conditioners, color TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, hoods, stoves and water heaters will receive a subsidy of up to 10 percent of the purchase price of a new machine.
10. 2022 production and marketing matchmaking and exchange activity
Date: mid-February to March 31
Large-scale and well-known agricultural product circulation enterprises in Xi'an will be matched with processing enterprises in the province for cooperation and to expand sources of goods for circulation enterprises
11. Livestream activity to sell local products
Date: March 15-31
Leading live broadcast e-commerce companies and internet celebrities will be invited to participate in the livestream activity to increase the sales of local products.
12. Livestream activity for selling overseas products
Date: mid-late March
The products mainly include food, health products, alcohol, non-basic skin care products, and maternal and infant products.
13. Xi'an Huaxia Housing and Furnishing Expo
Date: mid-late March
The expo will display home improvement products such as home appliances, tile floors and bathrooms, providing one-stop high-quality decoration services for Xi'an locals.
14. 2022 Xixian New Area International Auto Show
Date: March 18-20
More than 40 auto brands will appear at the Xi'an Linkong Convention and Exhibition Center.
15. Cloud QuickPass of China UnionPay consumer promotion activity
Date: Feb 15-April 15
People who purchase items at physical stores or brand snack bars designated by participating time-honored brand catering companies can receive gift coupons through the China UnionPay app.
16. Creation of 15-minute convenient living circles
Date: early March
Throughout the year, at least 25 such living circles will be built to promote the high-quality development of commerce and trade in Xi'an and make them smart and convenient, standardized and orderly, and of high-quality services.
