The 24th China Yangling Agricultural Hi-Tech Fair Opens on Nov 5
According the press conference of the 24th China Yangling Agricultural Hi-Tech Fair (CAF) on the morning of October 5, the CAF will open on November 5 under the theme of “the Belt and Road to boost agricultural modernization”. Among the 55 participating countries and regions, the number of countries along the Belt and Road reaches 35.
Exhibition area of 188 thousand square meters with standard booths of 2280
At the press conference, Liu Tianxiong, Deputy Director of Administrative Committee of Yangling Demonstration Zone and Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the 24th CAF Preparatory Committee introduced the preparatory work and said that the 24th CAF covers an exhibition area of 188 thousand square meters with 4 indoor exhibition halls and 6 outdoor exhibition halls. The number of standard booths reaches 2280, an increase of 260 over the last year with increase rate of 13%.
Liu also emphasized that the 24th CAF attached great importance to international agriculture cooperation. During the Yangling International Agricultural Cooperation Week, with Serbia as the guest of honor, more than 20 multilevel international exchange activities in form of forum, promotion conference, roundtable meeting will be held for countries along the Belt and Road Economic Belt including Modern Agriculture High-end Forum, International Agricultural Science and Technology Forum, Chinese and Foreign Farmers Entrepreneurship Forum, the 1st Yangling International Seed Industry Forum, the Belt and Road Agriculture Minister(Governor) Roundtable and Ministerial Seminar on Modern Agricultural Economics and Management in Developing Countries.
Brand value of RMB 61.599 billion and the establishment of Poverty Relief Pavilion
“We’ve gained substantial achievements this year in CAF brand building with awards including Shaanxi Famous Brand, UFI Certificate, Famous Chinese Trademark and 5A National Agricultural Comprehensive Exhibition. The brand value reached RMB 61.599 billion, ranking first among national agricultural regional brands,” said Liu.
“The specialty of the 24th CAF also includes the establishment of Poverty Relief Pavilion for the first time with booths of 680, accounting for 1/3 of the total booths and centering on sci-tech and industry poverty relief. In addition, special attention has been paid to theme exhibitions in Yangling Area of China (Shaanxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone such as key projects in the zone, agricultural sci-tech international cooperation, innovation and reform, quality agricultural exhibition and so on,” said Liu.
“Through the promotion of Yangling Area of China (Shaanxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone, key project contract signing and the launch of international cooperation projects, the “bringing in” and “going out” policy have been further implemented to promote the opening-up in Yangling,” added Liu.
