2017 Euro-Asia Economic Forum to Be Held in Xi'an from Sept 21-23

According to the press conference of 2017 Euro-Asia Economic Forum held on Sept 18, the Forum will be held in Xi’an from Sept 21-23 under the theme of “Jointly Building the Belt and Road: Synergizing Development Strategies”.

The Forum covers the opening ceremony & plenary session, 11 parallel sessions in finance, culture, science and technology, ecology, and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) local leader roundtable meeting, a series of theme sub-sessions, and more than 35 convention and exhibition activities such as the Belt and Road International Production Capacity Cooperation Expo and Xi’an International Fair for Investment and Trade. Led and organized by 22 government ministries and commissions including the 5 newly included units such as the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Education and China Meteorological Administration, the preparatory work of the Forum is all set. The number of confirmed participating enterprises until now has reached 246.

Upon the approval of the State Council, the Euro-Asia Economic Forum was first launched in 2005 as a high-level international meeting for the Eurasian region by taking SCO member states as the main part. Xi’an was named as the permanent venue of the forum and has convened the Forum for six times.
