The pomegranate flowers are always blooming in the sun. Clusters of red pomegranate flowers are dotted in the summer greenery, adding a little brightness and vitality.

The pomegranate was originally grown in Persia (today's Iran). During the Western Han Dynasty, Zhang Qian introduced it from the West to China. Pomegranate is particularly popular among Chinese who long for more children and blessings because of its red prosperous color, sweet and sour taste, and plentiful seeds.

The pomegranate flower is the city flower of Xi'an, symbolizing the enthusiasm, openness, and inclusiveness of the international metropolis. At the same time, the pomegranate flower is also a name card of Xi'an, which embodies the harmony between people and nature in the Guanzhong Plain.

Lintong Pomegranate Garden

From 2017, Lintong holds the Longhe Pomegranate Flower Festival in early summer every year to show the unique charm of pomegranate flowers.

For the past two thousand years, 80,000 mu pomegranate trees have been planted in Lintong, with an annual output of over 80,000 tons of fresh pomegranate.

Look! How bright and beautiful the pomegranate flowers are all over the mountains. Some are still in bud, yet some are already in full bloom, showing their delicate petals.

Sit in the pomegranate garden, make a cup of tea and feel the breeze in the mountains against the blue sky and white clouds. It is really a good way to escape the summer heat!
