The National Wetland Park in Chaoyi Town: the land of reeds

In the autumn, the National Wetland Park in Chaoyi Town, Dali County, Shaanxi Province, is full of reeds and attracts many visitors to come and enjoy the scenery.

Covering an area of 18,000 mu (approximately 1,200 hectares), the park, as a permanent lagoon, consists of the lake wetland, marsh wetland and constructed wetland. It is about four meters lower than the height of the Yellow River mud flats, which is also a low-lying land in the inland salt pool and the lowest point in the north of the Luohe River of Dali County. There are 159 species of wild animals and plants in the region all year round. It is an important “migration site” for migratory birds and a “natural bird watching garden” for tourists.
