Yuhua Palace
The scenic spot of Yuhua palace, 37 kilometers from Tongchuan city, is located in Yuhua town (known before as the Jiaoping coal mine area) on the northwest of Tongchuan in Shaanxi province, covering an area of 2,482 hectares, with a height of 2,401.67 meters and a forest coverage rate of 90.4 percent.
It’s a combination of natural and cultural sites where people can go sightseeing, spend their vacations and escape the heat, or participate in Buddhist activities. It is one of the highlights on the northern tourist routes in Shaanxi province.
Emperor Gaozu of Tang once built the Renzhi Palace here in A.D.624. Emperor Taizong had it extended and renamed it Yuhua Palace in 647. It is one of the most popular spots for emperors to spend their summers at the beginning of the Tang Dynasty.
