Hukou Waterfall is a national scenic spot and a national AAAA scenic spot of China. It is bordered by the Hukou Village, Yichuan County, Yan’an City, Shaanxi Province in the west, and the Hukou Town, Jixian County, Linfen City, Shanxi Province in the east. 350 km away to Xi’an in the south, and 387 km away to Taiyuan in the north, Hukou Waterfall is a shared tourist attraction for Shaanxi and Shanxi provinces.

It is the second largest waterfall in China and the largest yellow waterfall in the world. Cliffs rise steeply on both sides of the Yellow River. They make a narrow river mouth just like a teapot’s spout, which the Hukou Waterfall is named after. The 300-meter width of the upstream is narrowed down to 20-30 meters in a distance of less than 500 meters. The river water of 1,000 cubic meters per second cascades down from the cliffs over 20 meters high, as if the water from thousands of miles of the Yellow River flows into a teapot.
