A happy crested ibis family hidden deep in the forest

On June 2nd, a crested ibis just arrived after a long-distance food finding journey to feed her babies. The two adult birds looked after their kids in turn. When one went to find food, the other stayed at home. The happy crested ibis family are living in the thick forest located in Tianling Village, Silang Town, Yangxian County of Hanzhong, Shaanxi Province. The two baby crested ibis were born less than two weeks ago. Under the thoughtful care of their parents, they are growing up healthily day by day. Yangxian County enjoys the reputation as the “hometown of the crested ibis”, and the rare crested ibis can be seen by the riverbanks, in the fields and above the sky.

The crested ibis, also known as the “oriental gem” among birds, is one of the oldest birds on the earth, and they used to live in Russia, South Korea, Japan and China in ancient times.
