On May 16th, baby pandas were enjoying sunshine and delicacies in the Shenshuping Base under the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda.

In the early summer, the Shenshuping Base in the China Conservation and Research Center for giant pandas is surrounded by verdant hills. 19 baby pandas newly born in 2017 are happily and healthily growing up here. Located in the Gengda Town of the Wolong National Nature Reserve, the Shenshuping Base is a conservation and research base for giant pandas integrating feeding, breeding, research, public education and high-end scientific observation. In 2008, the Wolong Base of China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Pandas suffered severe damage from the Wenchuan Earthquake. For that matter, the giant pandas in Wolong Base were transferred to different wildlife parks and urban zoos in China. Despite that, Wolong still boasts the best habitat for giant pandas. On May 11th, 2016, with the aid of the Hong Kong SAR Government, the Shenshuping Base, which covers 150 hectares with an investment of over RMB200 million, was officially opened. Nowadays, there are over 50 giant pandas living in the Shenshuping Base. It is reported that there will be more newly born baby pandas coming in 2018
