The Han Dynasty Mausoleum Becomes an Urban Forest
On March 22nd, spring has arrived in the Duling Mausoleum, an imperial mausoleum of the Han dynasty located in the southern suburb of Xi’an. All the flowers are in full bloom, including peach blossoms, apricot blossoms and various wild flowers. The spring atmosphere is naturally fresh and intoxicating.
The Duling Mausoleum is the gravesite of Liu Xun, the Emperor Xuandi of the late Western Han Dynasty. In recent decades, more than two million trees of over 100 different species have been planted around the grave mound, turning it into an urban forest park.
