The world largest botanical garden will open on Chinese National Day!

Here comes a piece of shrilling news for Shaanxi people: the largest botanical garden will open to the public in Xi’an on National Day!

A staff from Qinling National Botanical Garden (QNBG) confirms that “Yes, seeing from the planning area, QNBG is the largest among its kind across the globe”.

For a fresh visitor to QNBG, he/she will be impressed by its “LARGE” area. QNBG, with its north to Huanshan Road, south to Qinling Ridge, east to the intersection between Zhouzhi County and Huyi District, and west to Heihe River, covers an area of 639 kilometers. As its altitude rises from 480 m to more than 3, 000 m, QNBG has five landforms including plain, upland and high mountains, with its total area equivalents to that of Singapore.

Zhao Cun, a staff from QNBG introduced that both Louguantai Scenic Spot and Qinling Animal Movement Protection Zone, two neighboring scenic areas, are fall into the territory of QNBG.

QNBG is so large that it encircles Louguantai, a holly land for Taoism, into its hug. The most striking feature QNBG differentiates from other urban botanical gardens lies in that the former also protects native plantations and animals.

“Qinling Mountains has 3,839 plantations and 722 vertebrates”, introduced Zhao Cun.

To buy a ticket, RMB 70 Yuan, allows you to enjoy Four Treasures of Qinling Mountains (giant panda, golden monkey, takin and crested ibis) if you are fortunate enough. The trial operation of QNBG will last for 4 days, namely, you can visit QNBG free of charge from September 27 to 30. There are two routes available for access to QNBG from the downtown area of Xi’an. Route 1: We can take on Huanshan No. 1 Bus from the North Plaza of the Wild Goose Pagoda to get to the destiny two hours later. Route 2: self-driving: turn to Xi’an-Hanzhong Expressway from Bypass Expressway and drive to west for some 18 km along Huanshan Road from Laoyukou Exit.
